Resumen

Las pequeñas industrias manufactureras ecuatorianas enfrentan limitaciones asociadas con desperdicios operacionales, baja estandarización de procesos y escasa integración de prácticas sostenibles, lo que afecta su eficiencia y competitividad. El objetivo de esta investigación fue diseñar un modelo de mejora operacional sostenible basado en Lean Manufacturing para la reducción de desperdicios en pequeñas industrias manufactureras ecuatorianas. Se aplicó un enfoque mixto, con diseño no experimental y alcance descriptivo-propositivo, mediante un cuestionario diagnóstico Lean-Green, checklist de observación directa y entrevista semiestructurada. Los resultados describen un nivel inicial de madurez operacional, caracterizado por aplicación parcial de herramientas de mejora, presencia de pérdidas productivas, limitada gestión ambiental y ausencia de indicadores integrales. La triangulación metodológica permitió establecer los componentes del modelo propuesto orientado a fortalecer la eficiencia productiva y sostenibilidad empresarial
